# Members and roles

> Who can do what in a workspace.

People in a workspace are called members. Every plan includes five of them.

## Roles

| Role | Can do |
| - | - |
| Owner | Everything, including billing, deleting the workspace, and changing roles |
| Admin | Websites, widget appearance, saved replies, business hours, and the invoice history |
| Member | Read and reply in the inbox |

There is one owner. An admin cannot change roles or delete the workspace, which
keeps the ability to remove everyone in a single pair of hands.

## Inviting

Open **Settings**, then **Team**, and send an invitation to an email address.
Only the owner can invite.

An invitation is bound to the address it was sent to and can be used once. It
cannot be forwarded to a colleague and used by them, so send a second
invitation rather than passing one along.

## Seats

Every plan includes five members. On Pro and Business you can add more, charged
per member beyond the five.

An invitation counts against your allowance as soon as you send it, not when it
is accepted. That stops a burst of invitations quietly exceeding the plan. If
you reach the limit, either remove a member, withdraw an unaccepted invitation,
or add seats.

<Info>
  Re-inviting someone who already has an outstanding invitation replaces it
  rather than consuming a second seat.
</Info>

## Removing

Removing a member ends their access immediately and revokes their sessions.
Conversations they handled stay in the inbox with their name attached, so
history stays readable.
